Mycotoxin Testing

Mycotoxins (a secondary metabolite produced by fungi and molds) are a lesser known, but prevalent concern when it comes to medicinal cannabis. These are found in and on plants and their extracts and can be quite harmful, even fatal, to those using cannabis with a weakened immune system.

Because plant matter provides favorable condition for bacteria and mold, mycotoxin testing is important for anyone using cannabis for medicinal purposes.

At current, the OMMA does not require harvest batches to be tested for mycotoxins. However, this test is performed simultaneously with our pesticide screening, making the results available upon request.
