Microbial Impurities

Microbes are tiny living cells that grow and attach themselves to almost everything around us. They are found on almost every surface, including the human body, in bodies of water, and even in the air.

Some microbes, even in trace amounts, can cause sickness if we ingest or inhale them. This is why it is crucial that we test and ensure each sample is free of E. Coli, Salmonella, Staph, Yeast and mold.

Because these are so prevalent in our everyday lives, it is important to practice strict and consistent measures to ensure no contamination occurs. The current limit of detection is 1 cfu (colony forming unit). This means any detection of microbe growth is an automatic failure under current regulations. But don’t fear! There are plenty of options for you. Remember your account manager is always here to guide you!

Sample Size: 1G
Microbes Tested:
  • E. Coli
  • Staph.
  • Salmonella
  • Rapid Yeast & Mold
We test for microbes by plating each sample on a petri dish. Next, they are placed into an incubation chamber for 48 hours as required by the OMMA.
